Dates and dry fruits ladoo

Dates and dry fruits ladoo is a rich, delectable, nutritious Indian sweet (ladoo variety) made with dates and mixed dry fruits. It is very easy to prepare and can be done in a jiffy if you have all the ingredients ready at home. Do try this for this Diwali. Learn how to make these yummy dates and dry fruits ladoo below.

Ingredients

Seedless dates- 200 gms
Chopped Mixed dry fruits (badam,pista,cashews) -100gms
Ghee -1 tbsp
Roasted Poppy seeds(khus khus)-1 tbsp +1tbsp (for garnishing)

Method

👉Grind the seedless dates to coarse mixture do not add water.set aside.

👉Dry roast the poppy seeds until it pops (donot burn it),set aside.

👉Heat 1 tsp ghee in a kadai add the nuts and saute for 1 minute remove from the fire set aside.

👉Again in the same kadai add rest of the ghee, add the ground dates cook for 2-4 mins by mashing it well until it becomes soft.

👉Next add the fried dry fruits, 1 tbsp of poppy seeds and combine everything well.

👉Remove from fire and allow it to cool a bit.
👉While still warm make ladoos , roll them lightly in remaining 1 tbsp poppy seeds.

👉Allow the ladoos to cool down completely and then store in airtight container.


Yield - approx 15-18  ladoos.
Preparation Time -15 mins

Note-

✍️Instead of making ladoos,you can roll the mixture to a cylindrical shape ,wrap it in aluminium foil ,refrigerate for 1/2 hour.
✍️Then remove the foil and cut into 1"thick discs of the mixture and voila you'll have khajur (dates)and dry fruits burfi just like store bought.
