Honey Chilli Potatoes Starter

Ingredients
Potato-2 nos chopped to finger length piecesOnions-2 nos chopped length wise
Honey-1 tbsp
Maida-1/2 cup
Cornflour-2 tbsps
Oil for deep frying
Salt-to taste
Sesame seeds (white)-1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves few.
Grind Together-
Ginger-1 inch pieceGarlic-8-10 cloves
Red chillies-10 nos
Method
👉Parboil the chopped potatoes until its half cooked.Drain the water set aside.👉In a bowl make thick batter of maida and cornflour with little salt and dip the potatoes and deep fry them till they are light golden brown colour set aside.
👉Simultaneously in a kadai heat oil saute the onions till they are cooked then add the ground paste and fry for few minutes until raw smell goes.
👉Add the deep-fried potatoes to it and toss well ,add required salt.
👉Immediately off the stove and add the honey mix well .
👉Garnish with sesame seeds and coriander leaves,serve immediately.

✍️You have to serve it immediately otherwise it will become soggy and won't taste that good.Coconut Vada | Thengai Vadai
Ingredients
Grated coconut- 1 full coconut.Parboiled Rice-250gms
Besan flour-50gms
Red chillies-8 nos
Asafetida a pinch
Oil for frying
Method
👉Wash and soak the parboiled rice for 1/2 hour and drain the water, now in a mixie first grind the rice coarsely then add coconut,red chillies, asafetida,salt and grind to paste DO NOT ADD WATER.Ground mixture |
👉Now to this paste add besan flour, curry leaves and coriander leaves,mix everything well. Check for salt.

👉Heat oil for deep frying in a kedai.
👉Make small vadas(patties)out of the mixture and deep fry them until golden brown colour is reached and till the oil stops bubbling.
👉Serve with sauce or pudina chutney.Enjoy.

Note
✍️First grind the parboiled rice and then add the coconut .The paste should be slightly coarse then only the vada will be crunchy.
✍️Do not add water for grinding( just sprinkle if you want)
✍️You can add cumin seeds to the mixture.
