Bombay Halwa / Corn Flour Halwa/ Karachi Halwa

Bombay halwa or Karachi halwa or cornflour halwa is a delicious melt in the mouth halwa variety that is very easy to make for any occasion. Even beginners can make this halwa with ease. Ingredients

Corn flour -1/2 cup
Sugar -1 cup
Lemon juice-1 tsp
Red food colour a pinch
Ghee -1/2 cup
Cashews and almonds few chopped

Method

👉Dissolve the corn flour in water and whisk well without any lumps then add red food colour to it mix well.



👉Heat a non stick  kadai dissolve the sugar in 1/2 cup water and bring it to boil.
👉Add lemon juice to the sugar syrup( to prevent crystallization of sugar).



👉Next add the cornflour and 1 tbsp ghee mix everything well.




👉Keep cooking by continuously stirring and adding ghee at regular intervals.
👉The halwa will form a mass and leave the sides of the kadai,becomes glossy and ghee oozes out.Now add the chopped cashews and almonds,mix well. 




👉To check if halwa is done take a small piece of halwa and roll it into a soft ball if it holds the shape then halwa is ready.
👉Transfer the halwa to a plate with rim and flatten it a bit.





👉Allow it to cool,then cut into square shapes.

Yeild-12-15 pieces
